Oral care should not be unfamiliar to the medical SLP. Many of us at this point preach on the importance of oral given that there are THREE factors (all of which must be present) to get aspiration pneumonia. The oral cavity is linked to the health of the rest of our body, and so I have created a handout to provide your patients/team/other medical staff on why they shouldn't skip brushing their teeth as well as basic oral care/hygiene guidelines to follow.
